American Sleep Association Expands into Anti-Snore Mouthpieces, Stop Snoring Mouth Guards, Sleep Apnea Mouth Guards, Oral Appliance Dental Treatments, CPAP and Supplies

Lititz, PA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015

American Sleep Association has launched a new effort to expand into the sleep and sleep disorder marketplace. Through affiliate relationships with top manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, American Sleep Association will offer access to sleep and sleep disorder merchandise to its members and viewers.

Initially, American Sleep Association (ASA) will focus on two of the most common sleep issues: sleep apnea and snoring.

Products that will be available through American Sleep Association include CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), BiPAP/Bilevel, CPAP supplies, CPAP filters, tubing, hosing, CPAP masks, humidifiers, and related equipment. ASA will also offer anti-snoring mouthpieces (snore mouth guards), which resemble oral appliances used for treating sleep apnea.

CPAP and sleep apnea oral appliances are some of the most effective and popular treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea. CPAP works by delivering air through a hose into a mask that the sleep apnea patient wears. This positive air pressure prevents the airway from closing during sleep.

Sleep apnea oral appliances and snore guards are dental devices that fit inside of the mouth and bring the lower jaw forward. This action widens the airway and reduces breathing resistance.

Snoring affects half of the adult population. Snoring, by itself, is not necessarily harmful. However, snoring may be a sign and symptom of obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep apnea affects between 4-20 percent of the adult population. Sleep apnea is associated with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, motor vehicle accidents, depression, and other health issues.

The American Sleep Association (ASA) is an organization dedicated to improving public awareness about sleep disorders and sleep health, promoting sleep medicine research, and providing a portal for communication between patients, physicians/healthcare professionals, corporations, and scientists.
