Better Rest Solutions, Creator of the SoClean® 2 CPAP Cleaner and Sanitizer, Donates $ 7,325 to American Sleep Apnea Association

Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 10, 2014

Better Rest Solutions, creator of the SoClean® 2 CPAP Cleaner and Sanitizer, recently donated a total of $ 7,325 to the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) in support of Sleep Apnea Awareness Day.

The ASAA established Sleep Apnea Awareness Day, which is held annually on April 18, to commemorate Professor Collin Sullivan, the inventor of the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. On April 18, 1981, Sullivan published the results of a study that demonstrated the effectiveness of CPAP therapy for sleep apnea sufferers and revolutionized treatment of this disorder.

For every SoClean® 2 unit sold from April 15 to May 15, Better Rest Solutions pledged to make a donation to the ASAA, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce injury, disability and death from sleep apnea and to enhance the well-being of those affected by this common disorder.

“We’re so excited to have had the opportunity to contribute to the ASAA, an organization that has done so much for sleep apnea sufferers throughout the United States,” said Mike Schmidt, President, Better Rest Solutions. “We’d like to thank each and every one of our customers who purchased a SoClean® 2 during our campaign and helped us support such a wonderful organization.”

More than 18 million Americans have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, a disorder that causes people to stop breathing in their sleep and can lead to serious health complications – including high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and diabetes – if left untreated.

Better Rest Solutions created the SoClean® 2, an automated CPAP sanitizer, to make it easy for CPAP users to clean their equipment. The SoClean® 2 uses activated oxygen to effectively eliminate 99.9% of CPAP mold, bacteria and viruses, ensuring that CPAP machines function properly and reducing the risk of respiratory infections.

“On behalf of the American Sleep Apnea Association, I would like to thank Better Rest Solutions for its generous donation and for its continuous efforts to improve the health and quality of life for sleep apnea patients,” said Tracy R. Nasca, Executive Director, American Sleep Apnea Association.

About Better Rest Solutions:

Better Rest Solutions was founded in July 2011 in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, with the goal of improving the health and quality of life of those who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and other sleep disorders.

Founder Mike Schmidt and SoClean® 2 creator Tim Leyva both have personal experience with sleep apnea. As such, they recognized the challenges faced by CPAP users and began to understand how failure to properly clean CPAP equipment could interfere with effective CPAP therapy.

With so many suffering from OSA and many more being diagnosed every day, Better Rest Solutions remains committed to meeting OSA sufferers’ ever-growing needs. This commitment is what led to the development of the SoClean® 2, a first-of-its-kind product that has revolutionized CPAP cleaning and sanitizing.

About the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA):

Founded in 1990, the ASAA strives to promote awareness of sleep apnea, support improvements in treatments for this disorder and advocate for the interests of sleep apnea patients.

The ASAA is dedicated to reducing injury, disability and death resulting from sleep apnea and improving the quality of life of those affected by it.
