Kensington Furniture Partners with Local Pediatrician to Form the Sleep Council

Kensington Furniture of Northfield, NJ, has partnered with a local pediatrician, neurologist, pulmonologist, chiropractor, sleep specialist, and other medical experts to create a Sleep Council. Kensington Furniture contains the largest selection of family room reclining furniture, bedrooms, and dining rooms. The Sleep Council is focused on educating people about the importance of their pillows and how a poor pillow can contribute to insomnia or sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea occurs in approximately 25 percent of men and about 10 percent of women. Nearly 30 percent of these people experience sleep apnea due to their pillow or bedding. Sleep apnea causes fragmentation of a person’s sleep, which causes those affected by it to be tired or have loud snoring. Sleep apnea is generally treated with a machine called a CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure.
The Sleep Council has used their expertise to construct a questionnaire that will help customers know which type of bed they need to get a good night’s sleep. In addition to the questionnaire, the Sleep Council has created a Pillow Bar, which will feature various head, neck, back, stomach, and side pillows. After answering the questionnaire, customers will be able to understand what pillows and bedding will yield the greatest amount of rest when they sleep.
